This study discusses the concept of theology in a cross-cultural and interreligious context, using the exposition of 1 Corinthians 9:1–23 as a model of Paul's missiology. The background of this study is the importance of understanding how theology can be applied contextually in a multicultural and multireligious environment. The purpose of this study is to explore Paul's approach to missiology that is relevant to interfaith and intercultural dialogue. The methods used are literature study and critical and contextual analysis of biblical texts. The results of the study show that Paul used the principle of cultural adaptation without sacrificing the essence of the Gospel to reach different groups. The conclusion of the study confirms that Paul's model of missiology in 1 Corinthians 9:1–23 can be used as a strategic example in cross-cultural-religious theological practice, which emphasises the importance of cultural sensitivity and an inclusive approach in mission and ministry.
Abstrak
Penelitian ini membahas konsep berteologi dalam konteks lintas budaya dan agama dengan mengambil eksposisi 1 Korintus 9:1–23 sebagai model misiologi Paulus. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah pentingnya memahami bagaimana teologi dapat diaplikasikan secara kontekstual dalam lingkungan multikultural dan multireligius. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengeksplorasi pendekatan Paulus dalam misiologi yang relevan untuk dialog antaragama dan budaya. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi pustaka dan analisis teks Alkitab secara kritis dan kontekstual. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Paulus menggunakan prinsip adaptasi budaya tanpa mengorbankan esensi Injil untuk menjangkau berbagai kelompok yang berbeda. Kesimpulan penelitian menegaskan bahwa model misiologi Paulus dalam 1 Korintus 9:1–23 dapat dijadikan contoh strategis dalam praktik berteologi lintas budaya-agama, yang menekankan pentingnya sensitivitas budaya dan pendekatan yang inklusif dalam misi dan pelayanan.
