Relevansi Matius 5:1-3 untuk Zaman Modern

In the midst of modern world developments filled with ambition, competition, and the pursuit of social status, happiness is often measured by material achievements and public recognition. This phenomenon reflects a crisis of meaning in contemporary human life, where spiritual values are often marginalised by worldly values. This is the backdrop for this article, which focuses on Jesus' teachings in Matthew 5:1-3, which state that the humble and meek are blessed and will find true happiness. The purpose of this study is to explore and examine the relevance of the message of humility in Matthew 5:1-3 for modern society. The method used in writing this article is a qualitative approach with biblical text analysis and a contemporary socio-cultural perspective. The research findings indicate that the principle of humility can provide inner peace and deeper happiness, despite the challenges of modern life that continue to test human moral and spiritual integrity. In conclusion, by exploring Jesus' teachings in Matthew 5:1-3 within a theological and social reflection context, this article demonstrates that humility is not merely an outdated value but offers a relevant spiritual solution to help individuals find authentic and true happiness amidst modern life.
