Membentuk Karakter Kristiani di Era Post-Truth

The post-truth era, characterised by the dominance of emotions and personal opinions over objective facts, poses a serious challenge to the formation of Christian character. The Church is required not only to uphold the truth of the Gospel, but also to be an agent for the formation of a strong public ethic. This study examines the role of the Church in shaping Christian character through ethical education based on Christian theology that is relevant to the cultural challenges of today. Using a qualitative-descriptive approach and analysis of contemporary theological literature, this study highlights the urgency of renewing methods of faith education that are not only informative but also transformative, instilling the values of love, truth, justice, and humility in a digital and pluralistic reality. The results of the study show that the Church needs to design an interdisciplinary, contextual, and community-based ethical education curriculum so that congregations are able to distinguish between false narratives and the true truth. Christian theological ethical education is proposed as a strategy to strengthen Christian identity and equip believers to face the tide of disinformation. The novelty of this research lies in the synergy between the concept of post-truth and the praxis of ethical education in the Church, as a contemporary apologetic strategy that has not been widely explored in contextual theological studies in Indonesia.
